The modern internet was designed to extract: ads on every surface, persistent tracking, and a silent bargain in which the user is the merchandise. Everything you do is recorded, processed, and then used to make you buy more of the same.
In the internet as it works today, the merchandise is you. Your data is used to sell and to build new products.
It stirs up excess desire, and the feeling of satisfaction fades fast, until the next purchase. Product quality matters to Lyra: it also offers curation and a filter for excellence that saves the user time and money.
Lyra reverses that marketing arrangement. We believe in the slow buy: conscious buying, and a way to connect with what is essential and well curated, without hurry and without excess.

Where Lyra runs
Lyra is designed for every platform: Android, iPhone, Mac and Windows. On your device, a native, secure browser.
It also works as a DNS filter that extends the same protection to every app.
If you prefer Chrome or Safari, extensions bring the same filtering and curation to those browsers. One account, synced everywhere.
How we curate
Curation is human and careful, done by Lyra and by our users. Lyra always favours makers with verifiable provenance, products built to last, and more responsible supply chains, ideally national and, why not, regional if you prefer, valuing the merchants closest to you.
The block list starts from three objective signals: business model (fast-fashion, mass marketplace, dropshipping), always valuing the local economy. To keep the experience clean everywhere, we block betting sites and adult content, and we give the strongest protection to your privacy (blocking everything from ads to attempts to hook your data). Lyra values quality, not volume. A Quiet Tech is born to refine your search.
Privacy & security
Lyra is, above all, secure and encrypted, built so that your online life stays yours alone. Here you are not tracked, not profiled, and not turned into a product.
Everything sensitive is kept in an encrypted vault on the device itself: your browsing history, your open tabs, your favourites and your password vault. Each of these is encrypted with a key derived from your master password, a key that never leaves your device. Lyra's servers only ever receive scrambled, unreadable text, so not even we can see what you browse, and none of it can leak in an attack or be sold to anyone.
We do not collect, keep or sell your data. There are no ads, no trackers watching you, no consumption profile being built without your knowledge. Sign-in is through an external account only (OAuth), so there is no password of yours for us to hold.
And this protection is not limited to our own pages: it follows you to every site you open through Lyra, stripping ads, trackers and session recorders along the way.
When you sync history, tabs and favourites across your devices, everything travels encrypted, under your key, and you recover it all on a new device with your master password alone. Only you.
